Guest Lectures

EFS Film School · Encounters
Another voice invited into the room — to widen the field of thought without unsettling its centre.
From time to time, EFS Film School invites another voice into its world: a filmmaker, an artist, a writer, a theorist, or a moving-image practitioner, to share their work, their methods, and their thinking with those who study here. On rare occasions, the school accepts an invitation elsewhere.
These encounters open the school to other sensibilities and other practices, while remaining rooted in a shared commitment to cinema as an artistic, philosophical, and perceptual practice. A guest is invited not to instruct but to expand the field — to bring a different lineage, a different question, a different way of seeing into contact with the work.
A guest is invited not to instruct, but to widen the field of seeing.
Particular guest lectures, when they take place, are announced through the News.
Beyond these encounters, the school teaches in four forms — each a different distance to the same fire.
