A New Home for EFS Film School
We are pleased to announce the launch of the new EFS Film School website — the permanent online home of the school, and the place where all of its teaching, writing, and activity now gather.
EFS Film School is an independent, artist-led school for personal, poetic, philosophical, and experimental cinema. It carries forward the teaching life of the Experimental Film Society and the long practice of Rouzbeh Rashidi, and this website brings that work together in one place: a space for study, for thought, and for everything the school will go on to make.
Self-Paced Courses
Live Online Courses
Onsite Masterclasses
Mentoring
These are the primary ways students, artists, and filmmakers can study with the school and engage directly with its way of thinking about the moving image. Whichever form your life allows, the work itself does not change.
Beyond the courses, the website opens onto the quieter, occasional life of the school — its screenings, reading groups, lecture archive, and guest lectures: rare gatherings around a film, a text, or an invited voice, called only when there is a reason for them to appear.
The site is also a place for words. The Journal collects essays, fragments, and reflections on cinema, perception, and artistic practice — a slower form of attention, added to over time. The News, which you are reading now, gathers the school’s announcements: new courses and editions, registration openings, screenings, lectures, and other word from the school.
Enrolment, enquiries, and registration all run from here, and Rouzbeh Rashidi remains available worldwide, in person and online, for courses, mentoring, commissioning, and consultancy. Every message is read and answered personally.
